The Road to 2.0

There are a number of sites discussing getting a 1.0 product out the door. However not so many discussing the issues with taking your product to the next step. I think that the challenges are different enough that they are worth discussing. So with that in mind, here is a series of articles about the challenges that I faced on the road to 2.0

HI if I click your links to ScreenMimic, I get a website called polarian.com. But I think this is not your website. It shows advertisments but not your sreenmimic.
    What happened?

Greetings, I love Screen Mimic… It is blazing fast. But I really think you need to offer more codec choices for the QuickTime Export. Or at least offer the uncompressed “None” format so you can choose a compression scheme for re-encoding. Right now there is no way to export full quality without double compression artifacts. This is a severe limitation to the program.

Ted, thanks for your feedback. We have tried to keep the codec choices limited so as not to confuse people who aren’t as familiar with video compression. That being said I can certainly see how it would be useful to have the uncompressed movie available. So in the next point release I’ll add an advanced options setting to the codec list that will let you select from all of the codecs that you have install on your system. (Since some users may have a special codec that they prefer.)
