hey I love this app and am grateful that you're putting it out there for free. But is there anyway to get chapter headings on the app or is that copy righted?

I am looking at getting an iPod touch within the next couple months and had been thinking about working on a scripture app like yours. I currently work in a Spanish Branch and do a lot of translating at meetings so I have been wanting to make a way to have a program, identical to yours but with a spanish button at the top that could do a quick switch between the languages, so that if your reading Moroni 10, 3 then you could click one button and instantly be viewing that same verse in spanish. I am not necessarily asking you to do this, unless you want to. But am more interested in doing it myself, since I love to program anyways. I would actually almost prefer to do it myself just for a learning experience. Getting to the point, I wanted to know (since you do not charge for the app) if you had considered letting the code be open source, or if not open to public if I could either see what you did and possibly build onto it. If not, which I can understand any reservations, then my questions would be more general such as what recommendations do you have to start a program like this, if you did any tutorials and so forth. Any help you have would be appreciated. I am a good php mysql programmer with experience in C, and Java, (assembly as well, but can see that helping). Thanks for any help you might offer. Sorry my comment was longer than the post :)

Thank you for developing this app for the Iphone. The format is uncluttered and easy to read. That's appreciated since cluttered pages are getting harder to read as I get older. It's very handy to always have the scriptures with me and find myself reading them more often because of it.

BTW I have no problem paying for this and other LDS likes this and will be making a donation.

I hope to see more.

Wow, you really are a good soul! I wrote a review on Michael's app smashing his and praising yours. After reading your blog, I am going to re-write my review of his app to give it a more kinder and appropriate review. (thanks for the opportunity to self-evaluate) I stumbled on to your blog trying to find a paypal donation link, but will donate to the P.E.F. instead. (As you requested) Thanks for your work! May you and your family be blessed!

"The Church has no ETA as to when they plan on granting permission." - Chuck

The Church needs to get a *lot* more progressive about technology and stop all the foot dragging. A couple of years ago I contacted their media department and offered (for free) to do bookmarkable AAC conversions of their MP3-based audio scriptures for all the LDS iPod users out there. After some emails back and forth (that began positively), they just stopped responding. Yep, I'd hit the typical (and infamous) IT stonewall.

It should not be this way.

BTW Chuck, I eagerly await your native scriptures app.

Thanks for your work on this protect. I appreciate that you offer this as a free download. Any thoughts about adding hymns and the priesthood/rs lessons? Thanks again for your efforts.
